LIDO AZZURRO
For this project, I created an illustration for the T-shirts, tote bags, and prints of the Lido Azzurro restaurant and beach club in Sabaudia. This beach club has a long-standing history and has been the backdrop of summer stories for multiple generations. Capturing this lore was essential, especially for a hospitality brand closely connected to coastal life, where every detail contributes to its identity and guest experience.
I personally conducted an inquiry to tailor the design to the brand, uncovering memories, objects, and symbols tied to the location. These included a goldfinch, a jellyfish scare, floaters, flowers recalling a honeymoon in Polynesia, and a measuring tape used for placing Italian beach umbrellas. Anchored by a jukebox as the centerpiece, the composition became an unconventional still-life that reflects both the history and personality of the place, sparking conversation among guests about its stories and traditions.
The design functions as a standalone merchandising illustration, while also connecting to my broader commercial work, including the Sicula project.
